Welcome to 2025, the year of the lever

we have now completed our product development phase, years late, but better late than never

we now pivot to a focus on customer service and strengthening the website to make it as useful as it can possibly be

things i am looking forward to this year are getting a Mazzer Philos and later on the revised Hedone Honne with the toothed belt – it really is a fantastic grinder. i know some owners have experienced the belt slipping, typically those running ultra light roasts, but the forthcoming toothed belt and drive will eliminate this possibility. it really is an exceptional grinder with alternatives that are more than twice as expensive not beating it where it matters; in the cup

i will purchase a Mazzer Philos as part of the londinium customer service; something i can do for the customer base is purchase grinders from time to time and recommend them if i feel they are a good match for londinium lever espresso machines

a thank you to BG Coffee in Texas for ordering their eighth and ninth L2 and L3 machines from us in december 2024, replacing the machines they ordered from us back in 2014 as they have now come to the end of their useful life having generated many many times their capital cost in revenue with only minimal maintenance costs over their ten year service life. they have been working in a really busy cafe and we are very proud of how they have stood up to the punishment, the reward being the repeat custom after a decade of service

i gifted my brother a Vectis for xmas and this was the first time i had tried the Vectis in its current production guise and it has definitely exceeded my expectations, albeit it has taken years to get across the finish line. the Vectis is the machine i would have liked the L1(2012-16) to be, but it was not possible as we did not have our own group. if you are looking to for a better result in the cup from your L1(2012-16) with a smaller footprint and even further reduced complexity the Vectis is the machine for you. it is an extremely simple machine to service and is all new from the ground up. if you have owned a home lever espresso machine and loved it except for the lack of thermal stability the Vectis is the machine for you
