Pre-delivery inspections (PDI) have started

on friday we collected the first 6 machines from the factory and took them away to perform our own in-house 28 point check PDI

over the weekend we have completed the PDI for the first 3 machines and they will leave today

we will get the remaining 3 machines through the PDI in the next few days

providing they pass the PDI we will then get them on the relevant carrier to you, the customer

our new PDI process is acting as a fine filter to ensure we identify and correct any shortcomings with a LONDINIUM Machine before we send it to a far flung corner of the globe

In some cases this may mean a delay of perhaps a week if it fails the PDI whilst we wait for the factory to provide parts that conform, but this is vastly preferable to expecting the customer to put things right on a new machine, which has been the business model we have operated to date

It also removes any discussion about whether the non conforming item is the result of shipping damage, or prior to shipping, or whether it is customer induced. The PDI process will also see us return a report to the factory for every batch we process so common themes can be identified and track and any persistent issues are identified as processes weaknesses that need improvement, as opposed to one-off anomalies that simply happen now and then

For the Vectis it also signals a move to shipping the machines with the machined no grease seals fitted, which should greatly improve the customer experience
