Expect to see it by the end of the week I guess – its coming from EspressoParts in the States
We’ll pop that into a bottomless port filter frame and off we go
We have gone for the basket with the fitted temperature probe only as the pressure gauge appears to be analogue and therefore the data can not be collected on a computer, so it seems very expensive as i would have to manually record the pressure data and we have plenty of analogue pressure gauges already and measuring dynamic pressure is always a challenge – Scace or no Scace – as the resistance presented by the coffee is not a constant throughout the extraction
Next – a fist full of HOBO single channel data USB loggers as they are one of the very few whose software runs on a Mac/OSX environment
Just a shame they don’t yet offer a multi-channel device that accepts thermocouple probes – there’s one in the pipeline apparently
We’ll also be making calls to these guys on Tuesday next week to see if we can get their software to run on OSX without having to run Windows on the Mac as it is a multichannel device that supports a higher sampling rate too
Then we will draw up a number of test scenarios and set to work
