The year 2014 in review at LONDINIUM

So, the tools have been laid down for the year, and the factory has fallen silent for a few days

It seems an appropriate time to say thank you to anyone who purchased anything from us since I returned to my country of birth, New Zealand, to live

It felt at least like a massive gamble to relocate, as even though the business consultants tell us oh yeah sure you can live anywhere with a web business, there are many potential issues that could arise that would completely sink the theory and leave you in financial ruin

i am both surprised and humbled by the number of customers that have continued to buy coffee from us on a manual basis using paypal and the like – I really thought we had walked away from our coffee roasting business, so thank you so much for your custom

In the background we have quietly been having some custom interfaces built to further elimitate the amount of my time that gets sucked up with the drudgery of book keeping, which should free up many hours a week

we are also awaiting several other pieces of development and enhancements before we embark on rebuilding our entire shipping rate tables, something I decided a long time ago could wait until 2015

2015 will also see us having to use multiple couriers for different destinations in New Zealand, which is a pain, but a fact of life that we will have to address head on in the new year with renewed viguor

in 2015 you will see us gradually move to all cup of excellence coffees, as I have no interest in moving to a larger roaster and competing on a lowest cost per tonne basis, which is an unavoidable fact of life if you start chasing commercial customers

so our goal is to move even further up the quality pyramid and unashamedly charge a premium for exceptional coffee that is roasted with care and experience by myself – no staff.  So if you ever receive a roast that you are unhappy with you tell me and I work with you until you do receive a roast that you are delighted with; this is the LONDINIUM difference; an authentic workshop business with a global customer base

Since the launch of the series two LONDINIUM I machine in mid 2013 there has not been a single instance of shipping damage, including no leaking pipes, not a single instance.  I think that is a remarkable achievement

early in 2015 we look forward to the successful introduction of the new LONDINIUM I – P, in response to the demand for a single group edition of the well received LONDINIUM II

merry Xmas, and thank you for your support in 2014 which i have deeply appreciated

reiss.
