so, with a tiny bit of luck we will be shipping LONDINIUM I – P to the world tomorrow
what’s next?
we have already started work on two more lever espresso machines, the aim being to offer a best in class lever espresso machine for every conceivable need
our next generation web platform is already under development, which amoungst other things will bring speed, stability, and an ability to accept orders for products that ship from different locations
we are selling down our coffee stock and when cleared we will be bringing in an extensive range of very high quality single estate beans suitable for espresso from a new broker that are really looking forward to
we have persisted with our experiment of offering significant discounting for volume purchases of the same bean, both because it gives us operational efficiencies and because we have seen time and time again that home baristas make life extremely challenging for themselves by buying one bag of 6 different roasts and wondering why they struggle to get an exceptional result in the cup
nonetheless, we are abandoning that pricing structure experiment as it is clear that it is not what the market wants. we will return to a fixed price per 250g bag regardless of the number of bags purchased, which is what almost all of our competitors do. i cant understand it, but there is no point in fighting the market
additionally, we have a very geographically dispersed customer base so we need to secure some very competitive shipping rates out of new zealand for our beans. i am determined to lift our bean sales as we have a unique selling point: no staff are involved; i roast every single bean that goes into a LONDINIUM bag of coffee so i take full responsibility for your satisfaction. you wont get a duff roast because if i stuff a roast up i throw the whole batch away every time, without exception
since developing our own range of lever espresso machines you can see the huge impact it has had in both our bean selection and our roast profile; we optimise our roasts to perform perfectly on our lever espresso machines
we hope to sell a lot more coffee to our installed base of lever espresso machine owners as we think we have roasts that really show what your LONDINIUM lever espresso machine is capable of delivering in the cup. to achieve this we will compensate for the impact of the international shipping cost by pricing exceptional coffees extremely competitively. in this way i hope that the total cost of purchasing our beans becomes a viable proposition, wherever you live
our offer won’t be inexpensive of course as the international shipping will push the cost up, but i will be making a real effort to make the proposition as attractive as i possibiliy can as i would like to know that as many LONDINIUM owners as possible are using LONDINIUM beans on their machines, at least on special occasions
so there is plenty to work on and some of it will materialise in the second half of this year. we look forward to bringing you exceptional roasts that are competitively priced, and in time another two lever espresso machines to ensure there is a LONDINIUM lever machine for every occasion
