The issue of flex in the new chassis: resolved. easy.

Today was the earliest opportunity that I was able to meet the people i needed to at the manufacturer of LONDINIUM I

The answer is simple – we will stick with the new bolted design, but we will add back in the approximately 25mm stitch weld in the middle of the underside of the machine where the two ‘L’ shaped 3mm steel plates are joined back to back to provide a 6mm steel vertical

We took a machine of the new design today and added this centre weld back in and instantly the issue was resolved

So now we have the best of both worlds; the metal does not deflect with the heat from welding as a result of the two ‘L’ pieces being bolted together first, and in adding back the 25mm centre weld that we had in the original chassis we have restored the machine to the original level of rigidity, arguably even more rigid with the presence of the bolts too

If you have one of the new bolted designs and you find the amount of movement in the chassis unacceptable, please get in touch
