i was on video Skype with our tech guy Kelsey, who is in Brisbane, this morning and he walked me through some early drafts of the new website
there is a lot of detailed work to be done on our new multi location shipping functionality, but the message is already clear; the new site is fast, very fast
around the middle of this month we should have some more news on the LONDINIUM I – S too, and some time in October we should be able to show our hand on it
continuing the speed theme, in August a new laser cutter which precision cuts all our sheet metal and engraves the name on each machine was installed. it is 5 times as fast as the old laser cutter, uses considerably less energy, and stands some 6 metres high in the factory. it can also cut to much greater accuracy and at much lower temperatures at the start of each cut. i hope to post a video here later this month so you can get an idea of it yourselves
a lot of people havent heard of our English manufacturer because they arent one of the famous italian names, but don’t be fooled. our manufacturer is producing 600 to 700 espresso machines every single month of the year, with strong double digit growth. the only espresso machine manufacturer i know that puts out those kind of volumes is La Marzocco, and they dont manufacture in house – it is outsourced and they merely assemble the components in house
Our manufacturer has the highest in-house content ratio that i know of, with more investment planned
