Revised LONDINIUM button tamper

We are transitioning to our revised LONDINIUM button tamper

We have changed the base from brass to stainless steel for two reasons

Firstly, we think it is a better match for our machines

Secondly, we grew tired of polishing our brass tampers every time they tarnished

The other obvious change is the side cut, which many of you will understand that it has been done to facilitate nutating, which i have grown to like, especially on deep, straight sided baskets

It was strongly suggested to me that i should have had a cut back when i was prototyping the original LONDINIUM button tamper, but i erred on the side of caution as i didnt want a radical tamper making it difficult for people to quickly and easily get good results from their new LONDINIUM lever machine as i was concerned that the machine would be unfairly blamed

Now we are safely out of the launch phase I am a bit more relaxed about issuing a tamper that is a little more radical and whilst it facilitates nutation it does take a little but more to get used to, whereas the outgoing design is almost fool proof in that it almost forces a level tamp upon you.  This latest iteration demands that more care is taken for a level tamp

I wasnt planning to announce this change just yet but we have open orders for the button tamper that we arent currently able to fulfill as we have just run out of the original style and the new design hasnt hit production yet, but is very close

So… if you have an open order with a button tamper in it it will be fulfilled with this new style of tamper shown in the image alongside at the end of this month.  if you dont want the new style of tamper let me know and i will refund your monies

I apologise for the messy transition – it is always difficult managing any kind of product change im afraid, which is why i avoid it unless i have real improvements to offer.  The ability to nutate easily with this revised button tamper is a real benefit that i felt need to be brought to market.  I hope you enjoy it as much as I have creating it – i am very pleased with the result
