that’s right, since August or whenever we started shipping the series two LONDINIUM I, not a single machine has arrived at destination with any damaged. not one
that’s not to say it cant happen, but that’s not to say we dont consider it quite an achievement either
secondly, there seems to be a perception in the market that we changed one or more aspects of how the series two machine makes espresso. this is not true. the machines being shipped today are exactly the same as the very first LONDINIUM I we built that is sitting here in my kitchen with me right now
the series 2 machine has pop off panels for ease of assembly in the factory and ease of access for the owner. it also has a more rigid chassis for shipping. it has LED lens signal lights & the addition of a ‘power on’ light and the manometer has been moved towards the centre line a little to make it easier to read. solid wenge handles as standard. a slightly different drip tray with no lip at the back which customers seem to think is an improvement, but i respectfully disagree, but hey ho dont say we’re not market led!
the machine continues to be available as both manual fill (tank & pump) and mains fill. the only change is that in the future people wanting a mains fill machine will be sold a tank machine and an enhanced plumb in kit that will include the top panel, so you will end up with the same product but you will get the flexibility of owning the machine in both configurations
