new steam wand tip production issues resolved

one of the issues that has been burbling along in the background this year has been the change in the design of the steam wand tips

whilst they deliver markedly improved performance, production issues arising from the machining of these tips have been a pain

ever since we moved to this new tip design we have been battling with excessively high drill bit breakages

for example, last week we broke over GBP800 of drill bits which isnt that funny the first time it happens, and rapidly less humourous on subsequent occasions

we have finally solved it with the purchase of a new lathe for the job and a different design of drill bit

this means an end to me shipping tips from New Zealand, so i apologise to those customers who have been affected by our inability to deliver steam wand tips in a timely manner this year

having resolved the production issues it has allowed us to further refine the design by adding more separation between the holes, which has yielded a further performance increase

so our steam tip design is now settled and all the production issues that arose from making these tips have been ironed out. this frees us up to move on to other issues and improves your customer experience as we are now able to despatch orders that contain tips in a timely and streamlined fashion
