we took the lid off our Compak E8 with the standard burr set and look what we discovered: as far as we can tell this standard burr set has the same profile as the profile of the redspeed burr set shown on the compak website, i.e. quite different to the ‘standard burrset’ featured on the Compak website for the E8
we stand by our observations of the differences, but i can barely believe it is all attributable to the heat treatment and coating of the burrs: to the eye the profile of the two burrs appears to be the same, perhaps there are minute differences to the cutting angles of the burrs, but knowing how manufacturing works that explains strains credability i think
anyway, vastly different products – i might try and arrange a side by side video clip so you can hear the difference in noise levels if nothing else, although the grinder has ben moved onto a new home so it might take a week or so to arrange
