there has never been an instance where an owner has upgraded their grinder and not experienced a significant step up in the performance of their LONDINIUM lever espresso machine
entry level electric grinders for our machines are the Eureka Mignon, Mazzer Mini, and Compak K3
next woud be the Compak K6/E6 and Mazzer super jolly level
then in the great manual grinders it is the Pharos from Orphan Espresso (the best price/performance grinder that has ever been produced perhaps) and the HG1
then you step up in Compak K8/E8 and Compak K10/K10PB/E10 and the Royal, Kony and Robur from Mazzer
and above that your step into a realm beyon which you might think of as super grinders
in this class you have grinders like the Mahlkoenig EK43 and the Compak R120
you have choice, you can sit wherever you please on this curve, but be in no doubt; if you are prepared to invest to move up the curve you will see an immediate return on your investment expressed in the results in the cup
i have obviously only listed but a few grinders to illustrate a point – there are many other fine grinders out there and the less well known examples will tend to offer you more performance per dollar spent. in particular i am thinking of offerings from Eureka and Caedo, but there are many others too
do investigate grinders – this isnt news, but it is critically important if you want to unlock the additional performance that is built into your LONDINIUM lever espresso machine
