ive been asked more than once by prospective customers, oh ive been told a lever machine is slower than a pump machine and cant keep up in a busy retail environment
if you have ever been to napoli where the cafes are consistently busier than any other city i have ever visited and i would estimate that 90% of the cafes use lever espresso machines you wont need me to tell you that whoever put this idea into your head either doesnt know much about lever machines, or doesnt want you to learn too much about lever machines
nothing i say about the abilities of my products carries much weight obviously, so how about this from a customer who has had two L2s for more than 18 months;

Hope all is good with you and the machines are doing well- I can testify to the robustness of the L2 in a very busy environment – we do around $1500 each day on Saturday and Sunday in one of our locations just in beverages – that is a fairly average for the weekends, and the weekdays are up around $1000 just for beverages so they have now been going for a year and a bit at that sort of level.
Â
on top of that you have a machine that you can easily service yourself, which is a very significant issue if you are located outside of a main centre as you might wait for weeks to get a more complex machine serviced, or even to receive parts
there is no downside to a lever machine and the retail theatre is just so much greater than a pump machine can ever offer
the only emergency spares you need to carry for our machines if you are a commercial operator is a seal kit and a spare element and some Loxeal No.4 grease
