as i think i mentioned, ive got a bag of yirgacheffe that i roasted up before xmas and thats what ive been drinking this week
its not bad coffee, i like it as a long black/americano, but as an espresso its just a slightly irritating taste, for my money at least
its a good example of a coffe that you try to justify to yourself for the first half of the bag on the grounds that it is interesting, then for the second half of the bag you think, no, what utter rot, this is just irritating. the tea like tannins that turn up in yirg im just so over in particular. if i want to go down that route ill go and hunt out some fine tea – we’re about espresso and nothing else
set that against a backdrop of superb coffees that have just arrived, and how fragile the brand and reputation of a small coffee roaster is, and i find myself sitting here thinking its just not worth the risk of putting it on offer
like it or not, the standard we are held to is a customer must be able to choose any coffee that we have on offer and at an absolute minimum be satisifed with it, even if perhaps it is not exactly to their liking
you must be able to buy any LONDINIUM bean, prepare it as an espresso, and go yes thats quality, i can understand why i was charged a premium, even it perhaps it isnt exactly to my taste and i would choose something different next time
that is the standard we are committing to. if we dont meet that standard then you are entitled to ask for a full refund
whilst some of our coffees turn out superbly when prepared by other brew methods we are warrantying them expressly as the finest espresso roasts money can buy, and further heightened if you are using them on a lever machine
