At the risk of being accused of gluttony, what is the answer when you get to the bottom of your double espresso way too quickly, and going back to make another is a pain in the proverbial?
An Americano? Not really, no. Thats more like a coffee for a filter coffee drinker, but prepared within the limitations of an espresso machine, and in doing so not being an espresso, yet not being a filter coffee either
The answer if my captivation in recent days is anything to go by is to take the classic 6oz cappuccino cup and put it to proper use; espresso!
Firstly, if your espresso machine benefits from a hot water port, heat the cup by filling it with hot water while you grind and dose, otherwise use your kettle. Then dry the cup and pull the first double shot into it. Thenâ ¦ quickly prep and pull another double shot straight on top of the first.
