120V LONDINIUM I price adjustment

the price of the 120V LONDINIUM I has been raised by GBP40

the reason for this is it costs us GBP40 more to make – 120V components are offered by fewer suppliers in the UK, reflecting the minimal demand, and therefore command a premium relative to the equivalent 240V component. we are not making any margin on this additional GBP40, it is purely cost recovery

this is the way we had the pricing at the beginning, and i think it is fairer – if products that cost more to make are being sold at a reduced margin everything else has to work harder to compensate for it

if you need an upside to consider, look at our DHL Expresso rates to the USA which are just GBP97 for pretty much anywhere in mainland USA, and Canada very similar too – easily the least expensive ‘per mile’ rate of any destination we ship to i think

in a similar vein we have lifted the price of the new four hole tip from GBP7.50 to GBP9.00 – we have been selling these at a reduced margin until now too. the tip was something i was not happy with prior to even building the very first machine, yet oddly no one commented on its shortcomings. it is difficult to believe that something that is so simple on the face of it should have taken us so long to get right, but that is the way it goes sometimes

we’ve got it right now and we will not be changing it. given the improvement that it offers over our previous versions i can not see any customer being disappointed with the GBP9 outlay for it
